Jan was born in 1964, the 3rd child of 4 children. He grew up in a God-fearing house. At the age of 10 he gave his heart to Jesus, born again and filled with the holy spirit. He was baptised on his 15th birthday. Friday nights were the highlight of the week as it was youth service where all the youth of the church got together. They had praise and worship services, street evangelism, fun and game nights.
As the youth of the church, they had the privilege to be part of the planting and building of a new church. They went from a rented hall to a brand-new building where all the members pitched in to build the new church. Jan remembers the one school holiday when a couple of them helped to build the pews for the new church. As a teenager he was responsible for the sound desk operations in the new church. He also served as a deacon in the church.
In 1990 Jan married his wife Linda, They have just celebrated our 34th anniversary. They are blessed with two sons. A couple of years later they left the old church and joined LFCC (Little Falls Christian Centre) with Pastor Harold Weitz. Under Pastor Harold's teaching they grew a lot spiritual and served as home cell leaders. In 1997 Jan had the privilege to visit the holy land Israel with Pastor Harold. Their two sons grew up in LFCC and attended the Sunday school as well as the youth services. This helped them to grow spiritual.
Jan helped with the logistics for a outreach to Zimbabwe, where food was collected for old age homes. A 30-ton truck was packed with all the donations we received.
Over a 5 year period Jan was involved with the transportation of the Benny Hinn Ministries staff for his crusades in the Johannesburg area.
In 2016 they visited the Full Gospel Church in Krugersdorp-West and decided to join the church with Pastor Danie van der Westhuizen. There learned more about the gospel and grew spirituality.
Since 1990 Jan was involved in numerous businesses. He started a couple of new businesses from scratch.

Jan's strength is in the vision for new business’s and getting them of the ground. As from August 2024 he went into full time ministry at Bible in Hand Ministries.
